ENGINE FILTRATION

ENGINE COOLANT PRODUCTS

Often overlooked in regular service intervals, poor cooling system maintenance causes an estimated 40% of all premature engine failures. A diesel engine typically turns only about one third of the heat it generates into mechanical energy, another 30% goes straight out as exhaust, about 7% into the atmosphere, leaving the cooling system to dissipate up to 30%.

Coolant Filters: A properly specified coolant filter removes particulate from the recirculating coolant, and also includes a Supplemental Coolant Additive (SCA) that is slowly released into the coolant system. Two different SCA formulations are available to meet specific engine needs depending on the level of ethylene/propylene glycol solutions (i.e. antifreeze) in your coolant. These SCA’s protect against cavitation, scale, rust and other forms of corrosion, while maintaining the flow of clean coolant to all components.

Coolant Additives and Coolant Test Strips: For those coolant systems without a coolant filter/SCA, a coolant additive may be a good solution to maintain the appropriate level of antifreeze in your coolant system. When paired with a coolant test strip, you can accurately check the depletion rate, matching your engine’s specs during regular service intervals.
